It is no secret that the property and facilities management market in Hong Kong is mature and remains highly competitive. While the big names continue to maintain a fair share of the market, the opportunity for anyone of them to expand in leaps and bounds does not present itself any longer.
In light of the situation, the Board of Savills Guardian has initiated a succession of moves aiming at other business opportunities by steering the Group in more than just one direction.
Besides consolidating our presence in the Mainland market, our entry into Macau in early 2006 also proves to be a significant move towards making a head start in this thriving market. With a view to replicating Savills Guardian's business model in Macau, we set up
G. E. S. Holdings Limited with a prominent businessman in Macau and acquired through it several locally leading service providers in the areas of cleaning, security, engineering and landscape maintenance. The customers amongst which they serve include the Macau International Airport, the Venetian Cotai Limited and the Macau Polytechnic Institute.
The Group's proactive approach gains ground in Hong Kong as well. Several business ventures have been set up in recent years that mark little or no association with the Group's core business, yet they underscore the Group's position of a well rounded service provider.
